Do I need to visit Dubai to set up a company?

No, the company formation process is completed entirely online. However, to set up an IFZA company, at least one of the founders must have a valid Emirates ID. If none of the founders are residing in the UAE, you can choose a pre-assembled company formation package with the necessary visa quotas and obtain an Emirates ID upon incorporation. Once your company is incorporated, you will need to visit Dubai to take a Medical Fitness Test and complete the Emirates ID application after receiving your test results.

What is a visa quota?

A visa quota is the number of visas that a company’s founders or employees are typically allowed to obtain within the first year of operations. Please note that visa quotas are not the same as actual visas, and obtaining a visa requires an additional payment of $1,500 for each visa issued. If you need to extend or reduce the number of visa quotas after the first year of operation, you can request a change for the following year.

Are there any limitations on the operations of the IFZA company?

International Free Zone Authority (IFZA) companies are usually required to limit their activities to international trade or interactions with entities within IFZA. However, companies can conduct business activities in the Dubai mainland upon obtaining appropriate approvals from IFZA.
